Dr. Hijazi from Al-Ahliyya Amman University Honored at the UK Alumni Awards 2025

Dr. Amer Hijazi, a faculty member in the Department of Digital Engineering and Sustainability at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, has been awarded the prestigious UK Alumni Award 2025 in the Science and Sustainability category. This honor recognizes his outstanding contributions to digital engineering and sustainability, as well as his influential role in shaping academic and industrial policy development. The award was presented by His Excellency Mr. Philip Hall OBE, British Ambassador to Jordan, in the presence of Professor Dhafer Al-Sarayreh, President of the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions. The ceremony brought together leaders from the higher education sector, university presidents, UK alumni, and prominent figures from Jordan’s academic community. This accolade underscores Dr. Hijazi’s pioneering role in driving digital transformation and sustainable initiatives. His impactful work in policy development aligns with the sustainability objectives of higher education institutions and supports the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). His extensive research and close collaboration with industry have led to tangible advancements contributing to sustainability. Dr. Hijazi’s award also reflects his distinguished representation of the UK, where he earned a Master’s degree in Building Information Modeling (BIM) from the University of the West of England, Bristol (UWE Bristol), and a postgraduate qualification in Blockchain Strategies from the University of Oxford.
