Al-Ahliyya Amman University’s Faculty of Pharmacy Holds Awareness Seminar on First Aid and Building Evacuation in Collaboration with Civil Defense

The Faculty of Pharmacy at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, in cooperation with its Safety and Public Health Committee and the Balqa Civil Defense Directorate, organized an awareness seminar on first aid and building evacuation procedures. The seminar was attended by faculty members and administrative staff. Sergeant Iman Al-Tarawneh from the Civil Defense Directorate delivered an insightful lecture on essential first aid techniques, including managing choking incidents, performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and providing immediate care for burns. She underscored the critical role of community awareness and education in first aid, highlighting its impact on saving lives and reducing the risk of complications. The seminar also featured practical demonstrations of first aid procedures and CPR, with active participation from attendees. Educational videos were presented to further illustrate appropriate responses to burn injuries and various medical emergencies. At the end of the event, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dr. Arwa Al-Khatib, presented a token of appreciation to Sergeant Iman Al-Tarawneh for her valuable contribution in delivering the session and sharing her expertise. Dr. Al-Khatib reaffirmed the university’s ongoing commitment to promoting health awareness and fostering a culture of first aid among its students and staff.
