University Hosts Beach Cleanup at Aqaba Sea to Support Marine Conservation Efforts

In a dedicated effort to protect marine ecosystems and promote sustainability, Al Ahliyya Amman University recently organized a large-scale beach cleanup event along the Aqaba Sea. This initiative saw active participation from students, faculty, and local community members, who worked together to remove plastic waste, fishing debris, and other harmful materials from the coastline. As part of the university’s commitment to SDG 14: Life Below Water, the event highlighted the importance of safeguarding marine life and ecosystems. In addition to the cleanup, participants were educated about the devastating effects of plastic pollution on marine environments and the critical need for reducing waste. By engaging the community in hands-on conservation efforts, the university aims to inspire long-lasting environmental stewardship and raise awareness about the need to protect the Aqaba Sea for future generations.
