Under the Patronage of the Minister of Youth, Amman Ahliyya University Hosts the Jordanian National Line Following Robot Competition (NLFRC 2026)

Under the patronage of the Minister of Youth, Dr. Raed Sami Al-Adwan, Amman Ahliyya University hosted the opening ceremony of the Jordanian National Line Following Robot Competition (NLFRC 2026) on Thursday, 10 July 2026. Organized by TechBots, the competition brought together more than 100 teams representing universities, schools, training centers, scientific clubs, and independent teams from across the Kingdom. The Minister was welcomed by Professor Ahmad Hamdan, Acting President of Amman Ahliyya University; Professor Sari Hamdan, University Advisor; Professor Mustafa Atiyyat, Dean of Student Affairs; and Mr. Nader Sweidan, Director of the Arena Complex. They expressed the University's pride in hosting this national event, highlighting its commitment to fostering creativity and innovation, supporting applied education, and providing a stimulating environment for young talent in robotics and artificial intelligence. The opening ceremony was attended by more than 500 participants, including competitors, coaches, supervisors, academics, technology experts, and professionals with an interest in innovation and emerging technologies. In his remarks, Dr. Raed Al-Adwan emphasized the importance of investing in young people's talents and empowering them in the fields of technology and innovation. He noted that Jordanian youth possess the capabilities and potential to transform knowledge into practical achievements that contribute to the nation's future development. He added that competitions of this nature provide valuable opportunities for participants to enhance their skills in programming, engineering, and artificial intelligence while encouraging creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, and readiness for the evolving labor market. Professor Ahmad Hamdan, Acting President of Amman Ahliyya University, reaffirmed the University's pride in hosting the national competition, which brings together talented young innovators from across Jordan. He emphasized the University's continued commitment to advancing applied education, supporting scientific research, and promoting a culture of innovation among young people. The competition is one of Jordan's leading specialized robotics events, challenging participants to design, build, and program autonomous line-following robots capable of navigating designated tracks with speed and precision.
