The Faculty of Pharmacy holds an interactive seminar for its students under the title Bacterial Resistance to Antibiotics: What is Hidden and What is the Pharmacist's Role in Reducing This Problem?

Under the guidance of the Dean of the Pharmacy Faculty, Prof. Mohammad Al-Tanani, and Dr. Naeem Shaalan, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutics and Technology organized a seminar within the “Exchanging Knowledge and Experience for Faculty Members and Postgraduate Students,” series of lectures on Thursday 24/11/2022. The seminar was presented by Dr. Ahmad Al-Rasasi, the General Manager of Al Noor Drug Store in Amman under the title “Bacterial Resistance to Antibiotics: What is Hidden and What is the Pharmacist's Role in Reducing This Problem?” in the Mahmoud Darwish auditorium. A large number of faculty members and postgraduate students attended the seminar from the Faculties of Pharmacy and Allied Medical Sciences.The seminar focused on bacterial resistance to antibiotics in the human body and their misuse by patients and mentioned the safe way of using such medications in the treatment of bacterial infections.It is noteworthy that Dr. Ahmad Al-Rasasi holds several certificates in the field of pharmaceutical practices in Canada. Dr. Ahmad won two awards of excellence for the year of 2004 in Canada: the first is the Award of Distinguished Pharmaceutical Service and the second is an Honorary Award for the Best Pharmacist Team.Dr. Ahmad is currently working as the General Manager of Al Noor Drug Store in Amman. In addition to his occupation as a practicing pharmacist in Canada, he occupied multiple pharmaceutical positions as follow:- Instructor of the Canadian Pharmaceutical Application Program with the University of Toronto.- Trainer for the Methadone Program for the Treatment of Addiction or Chronic Pain in Canada.- Examiner with the Canadian Board Committee and a trainer for new pharmacists.- Lecturer and Trainer for Jordanian Pharmacists and pharmacy students in several Jordanian universities.- Member of the Higher Committee and the committees of Rational Utilization and Awareness of the Use of Antibiotics emanating from the World Health Organization and the Jordanian Ministry of Health.- Author and co-author of several pharmaceutical books through the Good Practice Committee for Pharmacy in the Jordanian Pharmacists Association.
