The Department of Architecture Organizes a Lecture Titled ‘Principles Of Sustainable Architectural Design’

The Department of Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture and Design organized a lecture on the principles of sustainable architectural design. It was presented by Engineer Imad Al-Dabbas, the head of the architectural section at the Jordanian Engineers Association under the supervision of Dr. Omar Hamed, a faculty member in the department. During the lecture, Engineer Al-Dabbas discussed the principles of sustainable design, presenting a case study from the design and implementation of the National Energy Research Building by 'Dabbas Architects and Planners.' The building achieved the highest rating (Grade A) according to the Jordanian Green Building Guide. Students and faculty members participated in discussing the lecture's key points, including sustainable design principles, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan's vision for energy security, renewable energy and water strategies, and their importance in community sustainability. The lecture also addressed how to apply these principles in the design and implementation of architectural projects. This event is part of the faculty’s efforts to enhance partnerships with community institutions and to promote the concepts and principles of sustainability, which are among the core values of the university.
