The AAU’s Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences Meets with Members of the Academic and Administrative Staffs

Dr. Joseph Bawalsah, the AAU’s Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, met with the members of the academic and administrative staffs in the Faculty on Thursday, 5/10/2017. In the meeting, he thanked the former members of the administrative staff in the Faculty for their efforts which they exerted during the last years. He also greeted and welcomed the new academic and administrative staffs. The Dean began the meeting by talking about several axes. He clarified that the most important ones are the University priorities for the academic year 2017-2018 which include the following: First, conducting scientific research to enable the AAU obtain the Quality Assurance Certificate in all of the Academic Programs. Second, achieving advanced ranks in the University Proficiency Exams in all specializations. Third, organizing lectures, symposiums and workshops in the local community about areas that concern them. Fourth, establishing links between the scientific research and the job market to enable students to obtain jobs. Then the Dean urged the faculty members to enhance their scientific research efforts and to make use of all services that the University provides for scientific research. The Dean also explained that the Faculty is keen on developing the curricula and methods of teaching to enhance the learning outcomes. At the end of the meeting, a dialogue was opened where the Dean listened to the faculty members’ inquiries which aimed to promote the educational process.
