The AAU Faculty Member Dr. Rateb Sha'ban Wins the Award of Excellence

Dr. Rateb Sha'ban, a faculty member at the AAU Faculty of Architecture & Design, won the Excellence Award by participating in the international competition in the Typography field held annually by the American Journal “Communication Arts” specialized in Visual Communication Arts. Dr. Sha'ban presented his project titled “Type Face”: Designing new Arabic letters suitable for use in titles only, which is a complete system (from A to Z). He presented a technical example about using the system which is a poster composed of his name (Rateb Sha'ban) repeated twice to show the aesthetics of the new triangular letters. He also emphasized the use of complementary colors to accentuate letters.It is worth mentioning that 1650 university, institutions, companies and independent artists in the field of Typography participated in the competition from all over the world. Only 128 of them won this award.
