Prof. Hamdan Patronizes AAU's Graduation Ceremony for Summer Term Students of the Silver Jubilee Class

Prof. Sari Hamdan, our university president, patronized the university's graduation ceremony for the 2023-2024 summer term students of the Silver Jubilee class. Mr. Omar Al-Hourani, Vice Chairman of the University Board of Directors, and several members of the Board of Trustees attended the event at the Arena Theatre. Also present were Prof. Anas Al-Saud, Vice President for International Relations and Quality Affairs, as well as the president’s assistants, advisors, deans, faculty members, and a large gathering of the graduates’ families and invited guests. The ceremony began with the national anthem, followed by a recitation from the Holy Quran by student Adam Al-Hadidi from the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management. On behalf of the university, Dr. Mustafa Al-Atiyyat, Dean of Student Affairs, delivered a speech welcoming His Excellency. Prof. Sari Hamdan, our university president, His Excellency Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Omar Al-Hourani, esteemed members of the Board of Trustees, the Vice President, the deans, faculty, and staff. He also extended a warm welcome to the attendees, guests, and graduates, saying: "I am honored to welcome you all to Al-Ahliyya Amman University for this esteemed event, where we proudly present a new group of graduates from the summer term of the 2023/2024 academic year. We add them to the legacy of this pioneering educational institution, which was founded 35 years ago by the late Dr. Ahmad Al-Hourani as Jordan’s first private university. Today, it stands as a beacon of knowledge and a center of cultural radiance. Welcome to all of you, witnesses to this achievement that our university presents." He added, "Today, we celebrate the graduation of the Silver Jubilee class, marking 25 years since the ascension of His Majesty King Abdullah II; may God protect him. We honor him for being a leader and teacher who strives to keep Jordan at the forefront despite challenges. Jordan, under Hashemite leadership, will continue to be a stronghold and sanctuary for all its people, as well as for the free people of the Arab and Islamic nations, consistently standing with the Palestinian people's just cause." Dr. Al-Atiyyat praised the university’s leadership and commitment to excellence, saying: "Al-Ahliyya Amman University carries the burden of distinction and uniqueness, embodying the spirit of the nation and the meaning of knowledge and education. Dr. Maher Al-Hourani, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, has unwaveringly and limitlessly supported the university in all fields, consistently providing the latest and most advanced resources, making this possible. Special thanks are also due to the university’s president, Prof. Sari Hamdan, for his strategic vision and outstanding administrative experience, which have significantly raised the university’s national and international profile. Thanks are also extended to all university staff, both academic and administrative." He highlighted the university’s accomplishments, noting: "We are proud to say that Al-Ahliyya Amman University has maintained its lead among private Jordanian universities and achieved a qualitative leap, advancing 40 places to the 801-850 range in the 2025 QS World University Rankings, while maintaining third place among all Jordanian universities, both public and private. This outstanding achievement underscores the university’s academic excellence and leadership in higher education." Dr. Al-Atiyyat also discussed the university’s efforts in introducing new programs, reflecting a forward-looking vision and commitment to academic excellence. Recent additions include new bachelor’s and master’s degree programs designed to meet the evolving needs of the local, regional, and global labor markets. The following new programs are available: • Master in Business Technology at the Business School. • Bachelor in Dental Technology at the Faculty of Dentistry. • Bachelor in Occupational Therapy at the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences. • Bachelor in Game Design and Development at the Faculty of Information Technology. • Bachelor in Chinese-English and German-English Languages at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. • Bachelor in Electric Vehicle Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering. He also acknowledged the university’s recognition of its outstanding students and graduates, saying: "As a tribute to our distinguished students and graduates, and in honor of our university’s alumnus and Olympic medalist Zaid Mustafa for winning the silver medal in Taekwondo at the 2024 Paris Olympics, the Board of Directors, upon the recommendation of the university president, has decided to grant Zaid Mustafa a full scholarship to pursue a master's degree in Sports Science." In his closing remarks, Dr. Al-Atiyyat congratulated the graduates: "On behalf of myself and my colleagues, the faculty and staff, I congratulate you. We take immense pride in your accomplishments. You have built a solid foundation for a promising and bright future, and we are confident that you will become pioneers and innovators in your respective fields." The graduate representative, Mohammad Adnan Abdel-Wareth from the Faculty of Engineering, also delivered a speech, thanking the university, faculty, staff, and families for their unwavering support. He expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed to the graduates' success. Prof. Anas Al-Saud, Vice President, then announced the students' official graduation, confirming that they had met all graduation requirements. He called for diplomas to be awarded to the deserving graduates. Alaa Abdel-Ghani Taysir Al-Haj Ali, a graduate student from the Faculty of Engineering, beautifully hosted the ceremony. At the end of the ceremony, His Excellency Prof. Sari Hamdan presented the diplomas to the graduates and awarded honors to the top-performing students.
