Prof. Dr. Sari Hamdan inaugurates the Winter Sports Tournament for Jordanian Universities in Aqaba

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sari Hamdan, President of the Sports Federation of Jordanian Universities and President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, the Federation held the opening ceremony of the Winter Sports Tournament for Jordanian Universities in Aqaba on Friday 6 Jan 2023, at the Prince Rashid Club of the Aqaba Ports Management and Operation Company. The opening ceremony was attended by H.E. Khaled Al-Hajjaj, Governor of Aqaba, a number of presidents of Jordanian member universities of the Federation, the Director General of Aqaba Ports Management and Operation Company, the Director General of Aqaba Facilities Management Company, in addition to the deans of student affairs, directors of sports activity in Jordanian universities and a large number of students. The ceremony began with the entrance of the flag of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the flag of the Sports Federation of Jordanian Universities and the flags of the universities participating in the Winter Sports Tournament for Jordanian Universities 2023. Prof. Sari Hamdan welcomed all attendees and stressed the active role of the Jordanian member universities of the Federation in the success of the activities of this tournament, and thanked all employees for its success. The President of the Sports Federation of Jordanian Universities presented shields of appreciation to all the bodies and institutions supporting this tournament, where a shield was presented to H.E. Khaled Al-Hajjaj - Governor of Aqaba, in addition to the Director of Aqaba Police, the Aqaba Port Management and Operation Company, the Aqaba Facilities Management Company and the Model Scientific School, in addition to the Aqaba Civil Defense Directorate, Aqaba Traffic Department, Aqaba Health Directorate, Prince Rashid Club, Jordan Badminton Federation, Qusai Initiative, Jubaiha Studio, Sahara Hotels and Tourism Investments Company, La Costa and Aquavista Hotel. The opening ceremony was concluded with a performance by the Aqaba Folklore Band. It is worth mentioning that this sports tournament includes holding a five-a-side football championship for students and a badminton championship for female students, where 21 Jordanian public and private member universities of the Federation will participate, namely: University of Jordan, Yarmouk University, Mutah University, University of Science and Technology, Al-Ahliyya Amman University, Philadelphia University, University of Petra, University of Applied Sciences, Princess Sumaya University for Technology, Isra University, Al al-Bayt University, Zarqa University, Hashemite University, Al-Balqa Applied University, Al-Hussein Bin Talal University, German Jordan University, Tafila Technical University, Jadara University, International Islamic Sciences University, Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan and Middle East University.
