President of the Jordan Journalists Association and His Deputy Visit Al-Ahliyya Amman University
Dr Maher Al Hourani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, and the university president, Professor Sari Hamdan, welcomed the President of the Jordan Journalists Association, Mr Tareq Al Momani, and the Deputy President, Mr Awni Al Dawood, during their visit to the university. The meeting was attended by the university’s Media Advisor, Mr Ahmad Al-Anabousi.
Dr Maher Al Hourani and Professor Sari Hamdan discussed the significant progress the university has achieved in scientific, academic, and research fields. They highlighted the development of teaching methodologies, the integration of artificial intelligence across all university programs, and the ongoing work toward full digital transformation.
They also emphasized the university’s active societal role, its support for outstanding students in sports and the arts, and the comprehensive facilities and services it provides to students in various fields.
The two leaders pointed out that nearly 60 percent of the university’s students are international students, a factor that contributes positively to educational tourism in Jordan.
They expressed their pride in the university’s achievement of joining the top 500 universities worldwide according to global rankings, placing in the 401–500 category in the Times Higher Education Ranking for 2026. They stressed that teamwork, rather than individualism, is the key to success.
They also highlighted the introduction of dozens of new and modern academic programs aligned with labor market needs at the local, regional, and international levels, along with continued investment in the university’s infrastructure, facilities, and modern equipment in line with its growing global reputation.
The guests expressed their great admiration for the university’s accomplishments across all levels and congratulated the institution on ranking among the world’s top 500 universities.
The meeting concluded with discussions on enhancing mutual cooperation in various areas, including joint seminars, conferences, and training opportunities in journalism where needed.
