MoU Between Jordan Ahli Bank and AAU to Develop Students' Skills in Innovation and FinTech

Our AAU, represented by President Professor Sari Hamdan, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jordan Ahli Bank. The signing ceremony was attended by the University’s Vice President for International Relations and Quality Affairs, Professor Anas Al-Saud; the Dean of Scientific Research and Acting Dean of the Business School, Professor Ahmed Abu Orabi; and the Head of the Financial Technology Department, Dr. Khaled Al-Halta. On behalf of Jordan Ahli Bank, the CEO/General Manager, Dr. Ahmad Al-Hussein, signed the MoU in the presence of the Director of Creativity and Innovation, Mr. Nidal Khalifa, and the Assistant Vice President of Alliances, Ms. Rima Al-Azza, from Jordan Ahli Bank. This agreement aims to foster joint research and promote a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation, in addition to providing students with practical training, equipping them with skills and hands-on experience that will prepare them for the job market. As part of this partnership, various initiatives will be launched, including the promotion of the Jordan Ahli Bank’s "Qawn" app, which aims to transform the university campus into a "FinTech-friendly digital environment." This app, used by more than 150,000 people, will offer students a modern and secure method for conducting their financial transactions, facilitating financial operations within the campus. Professor Sari Hamdan emphasized that this memorandum reflects the university's commitment to providing an outstanding and advanced educational environment that aligns with the changing needs of the job market and enhances its position as a leading educational institution in the field of FinTech. He also highlighted the importance of strategic partnerships with local and international institutions to foster cultural and academic exchange and enhance the quality of education and scientific research. On the other hand, Dr. Ahmad Al-Hussein, the CEO/General Manager of Jordan Ahli Bank, expressed his pride in partnering with our AAU, describing it as a leading national and educational institution. He expressed his delight in launching this partnership, which aims to strengthen collaboration in the fields of entrepreneurship and innovation, develop students' practical skills, and prepare them for the job market by providing real-world experience in banking operations and FinTech innovations.
