Memorandum of Understanding Between AAU and the USAID-Funded Water Conservation Project
AAU signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the USAID-funded Water Conservation Project as part of ongoing efforts to sustain water resources in Jordan.
The MoU aims to enhance water use efficiency across various sectors, with a particular focus on the academic sector, thereby supporting national efforts to preserve this vital resource.
The agreement was signed by Professor Sari Hamdan, President of our AAU, and Mr. Frank O’Brien, Project Director, reaffirming their joint commitment to advancing sustainable water management and raising awareness about its significance.
The MoU outlines several key areas of partnership:
• Integrating water efficiency concepts into the curricula at Al-Ahliyya Amman University.
• Developing training programs and workshops targeted at students and graduates to equip them with essential water management skills.
• Providing opportunities for joint research between students and faculty members to explore innovative solutions to water sustainability challenges.
• Organizing academic events to enhance community awareness about water efficiency.
• Establishing reciprocal training programs with the project to develop students' practical expertise.
This partnership serves as a model of institutional collaboration, combining education and innovation to achieve sustainable positive impacts.
Through this cooperation, Al-Ahliyya Amman University and the Water Conservation Project aim to realize a shared vision of promoting water efficiency and ensuring its sustainability for future generations, driven by their shared commitment to social responsibility and innovation.
