Memorandum of Cooperation between AAU and Huawei Technologies- Jordan

In a new step toward fostering innovation and expanding academic and technological collaboration, Al-Ahliyya Amman University has signed a memorandum of cooperation with Huawei Technologies-Jordan. The agreement was signed on behalf of the University by Prof. Sari Hamdan, President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, and on behalf of Huawei Technologies, Jordan by the General Manager, Mr. Leo. The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Jason, Huawei’s Director of Jordanian Affairs; Mr. Joey, Human Resources Director; Mr. Abdul Rahman, Educational Sector Technology Solutions Lead; Mr. Saed Al-Sabbagh, Director of Public Relations and Talent Development; and Ms. Lana Najjar, Talent Development Specialist. Representing the University were Prof. Ahmad Hamdan, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, and Prof. Mohammad Al-Qatawneh, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology. This memorandum aims to establish a collaborative working relationship between the two parties in preparation for launching the Huawei Authorized Information and Network Academy (HAINA) at the University. The details of the initiative are expected to be finalized and followed by an executive agreement before the end of 2025. Under this agreement, Huawei will provide specialized technical and academic support to faculty members to help develop curricula aligned with the program’s requirements. The company will also offer HCAI (Huawei Certified Academy Instructor) training to two academic staff members for each training track within the program. Prof. Sari Hamdan emphasized that this agreement aligns with the University’s strategic vision to strengthen partnerships with leading global technology companies. He noted that the collaboration with Huawei marks a significant step toward integrating advanced technologies into the educational environment and equipping students with the digital skills necessary for the job market. For his part, Mr. Leo, General Manager of Huawei Technologies – Jordan, affirmed that the partnership reflects Huawei’s commitment to supporting the education sector in Jordan by transferring global knowledge and expertise to students and academics, and by building local capacity in the field of ICT. He explained that the joint program with the University will offer training opportunities and certified qualifications that will enhance students’ readiness for the evolving tech-driven job market. Huawei is a global leader in information and communication technology (ICT), offering integrated solutions in telecommunications networks, IT, smart devices, and cloud services—aimed at building a fully connected, intelligent world.
