Japanese Embassy Delegation Visits Al-Ahliyya Amman University
Professor Sari Hamdan, President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, received a delegation from the Embassy of Japan in Jordan, including Ms. Mika Yamada, Cultural Attaché at the Japanese Embassy, and Ms. Ghufran Al-Hindawi from the Cultural and Public Relations Section. The meeting was attended by Dr. Fairooz Abu Suweilem, Director of the Global Engagement Center at the University, and Ms. Reem Al-Abd, Head of Communication and International Partnerships at the Center.
During the meeting, discussions focused on ways to strengthen academic and cultural cooperation between Al-Ahliyya Amman University and Japanese educational institutions. The participants also reviewed opportunities available to students in the areas of scholarships, academic exchange, and joint educational and cultural programs.
As part of the visit, an informational seminar on Japanese scholarships was organized for students. The seminar was opened by Ms. Mika Yamada, who highlighted the cultural and academic cooperation between Japan and Jordan and outlined the educational opportunities offered by Japanese academic institutions to international students.
Ms. Ghufran Al-Hindawi delivered a presentation on the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Program, explaining the application procedures, admission requirements, and the mechanisms through which Jordanian students can benefit from the available study opportunities. She also answered students’ questions regarding studying in Japan and the prospects for career development and professional growth.
The seminar also featured a presentation by Dr. Ward Wakileh, a graduate of the MEXT Scholarship Program, who shared his academic and research experience in Japan. He highlighted the educational and cultural opportunities provided by Japanese scholarships and discussed their impact on the academic and professional development of students and researchers.
Both parties emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation and creating new opportunities for students to benefit from international educational and cultural experiences. Such initiatives contribute to the development of students’ academic and professional skills while fostering intercultural communication and understanding.
