Introduction Meeting on Al-Hussein Bin Abdullah II Volunteer Work Award at AAU
Our President, Professor Sari Hamdan, received Dr. Hussein Al-Jbour, Secretary General of the Ministry of Youth, accompanied by Dr. Majed Assaila, Assistant Secretary General and Director of the Youth Leadership Development Center.
The meeting was held to introduce Al-Hussein Bin Abdullah II Volunteer Work Award in its second cycle, organized by the Ministry of Youth in collaboration with the Deanship of Student Affairs. The event was attended by Samar Al-Daoud, a member of the award management committee, Amani Al-Majali, Director of Media at the Ministry of Youth, as well as Dr. Mustafa Atiyyat, Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Nour Al-Debbas, Deputy Dean, and a large number of university students.
Professor Hamdan highlighted the role of the Ministry of Youth in translating His Royal Highness the Crown Prince's vision for the award by organizing introductory sessions for various community members to encourage their participation in the award. He emphasized the importance of volunteer work in enhancing national values and developing the scientific and practical skills of young people. He also noted that the award provides youth with an opportunity to express their opinions and ideas on community issues. Professor Hamdan affirmed that community service hours for students would be recognized and counted through documented volunteer work via "Nahno" platform, the national platform for youth volunteering and participation launched by the Crown Prince Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth.
In turn, Dr. Hussein Al-Jbour stated that Al-Hussein Bin Abdullah II Volunteer Work Award was launched by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince to promote a culture of volunteering and to honor the efforts of individuals, institutions, and volunteer teams. He highlighted the award's importance in enabling volunteers to carry out community service projects that meet societal needs according to a work plan and achieve sustainability and impact.
During the meeting, Dr. Assaila reviewed the award’s vision, mission, categories, nomination criteria, and evaluation and judging standards.
At the end of the meeting, students presented a range of volunteer initiatives they are involved in and made several recommendations to enhance their participation in community service, appreciating the Crown Prince’s interest in honoring and motivating volunteers.
