Interior Design Department Organizes Educational Field Trip to the Southern Corniche Walkway Project in Aqaba
The Department of Interior Design at the Faculty of Architecture and Design – Al-Ahliyya Amman University organized an educational field trip to the Southern Corniche Walkway project in the city of Aqaba. The trip was supervised by faculty members Dr. Mazen Arabasi and Dr. Rehab Ghoneim.
During the visit, students were introduced to the facilities of the 13,000-square-meter project and informed about its various tourism-related activities and amenities, including hotel rooms, restaurants, cafés, a bowling alley, swimming pools, and more. As part of the academic exercise, students created as-built drawings and took reference photos of the site prior to initiating their design process. Additionally, the company overseeing the project provided students with preliminary plans and essential project information.
This initiative aligns with the university’s policy of integrating learning outcomes with the needs of the job market, as well as connecting student projects to real-life developments. It also reflects AAU’s commitment to fostering applied academic partnerships in the field of interior design, in line with its strategic vision and core values.
