In Collaboration with the Tourism Promotion Authority, AAU Hosts an Official Delegation from Rwanda Development Board
Professor Sari Hamdan, our president, welcomed an official delegation from Rwanda Development Board, headed by Ms. Michaella Rugwizangoga, along with the Senior Advisor of the Rwandan Embassy, Consul Joel Uwizeye. This meeting was in collaboration with the Tourism Promotion Authority, and was attended by Prof. Anas Al-Saud, Vice President for International Relations and Quality Affairs/Director of the Global Engagement Center, and Ms. Reem Al-Abed, Head of Reputation and Communication at the Global Engagement Center.
During the meeting, ways of cooperation between AAU and major universities and companies in the Republic of Rwanda were discussed in various fields related to tourism and hospitality, along with the exchange of expertise and educational programs.
Prof. Sari Hamdan expressed the university’s readiness to enhance cooperation with various institutions in the Republic of Rwanda in different academic, cultural, and tourism fields, aiming to strengthen cultural and educational exchange between the two countries.
Ms. Michaella Rugwizangoga and the accompanying delegation praised the reputation of our AAU and its prominent role in the development of higher education and scientific research, expressing their pride in the close relations between the two countries.
The delegation was given a tour of various university facilities, including the Faculty of Hospitality and Culinary Arts. They were welcomed by the Dean, Dr. Suzi Hatough, who introduced them to the faculty's facilities and its academic and training programs.
At the conclusion of the visit, Prof. Sari Hamdan presented an honorary shield to Ms. Michaella as a token of appreciation for her and the delegation's significant visit, which helped strengthen bilateral relations between the two parties.
