Hussam Hazem Appointed as Head of Media Committee at the 17th Rituals of Theatre Festival

Under the patronage of Minister of Culture Haifa Al-Najjar, the 17th edition of the "Rituals of Theatre International Festival" commenced on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Samir Al-Rifai Theatre stage at the University of Jordan. The festival showcased 18 theatrical performances from 11 countries. This edition of the festival was named in honor of the late director Khalid Al-Tarifi, recognizing his significant contributions to theatre both locally and internationally. The opening ceremony was graced by Maher Nafash, Acting Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture, representing the Minister of Culture, along with Mohammad Al-Abbadi, President of the Jordanian Artists Guild, and Dr. Ali Abu Ghaneimah, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design. The festival's executive committee appointed Hussam Hazem, a member of the Administrative Board in the Department of Cinematic, Television, and Theatrical Design at the Faculty of Architecture and Design at AAU, as the head of the festival's Media Committee. The festival concluded on Saturday, June 1st, with performances of "Salma" by director Najat Najm from Kurdistan Iraq, and "The Dream" by director Issa Al-Jarrah from Jordan, followed by an awards ceremony honoring the winners. This participation underscores the faculty's dedication to fostering collaborations with cultural institutions, aligned with its vision, policies, and fundamental principles.
