Faculty of Dentistry at AAU Organizes Training Workshop Titled "Arab Health Ambassadors Project"

In collaboration with the King Hussein Cancer Center, the Jordanian National Society for Smoking Prevention, and with the support of the World Health Organization, the Faculty of Dentistry organized a training workshop titled "Arab Health Ambassadors Project" on Monday, November 11, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Al-Hourani Auditorium. This workshop is part of the Arab Anti-Tobacco Union's initiatives aimed at promoting public health and combating smoking. The "Arab Health Ambassadors Project" seeks to train and qualify participants aged 15-35 to serve as health ambassadors in their communities. The project offers interactive sessions and specialized lectures addressing topics such as public health, methods of smoking prevention, and leadership in the health sector. The workshop also emphasized enhancing participants' skills to enable them to lead health awareness initiatives, raise awareness of the dangers of smoking, and promote healthy lifestyles. The workshop was attended by students and faculty members interested in public health and anti-tobacco efforts. Sessions provided innovative ideas and modern techniques to encourage youth and entrepreneurs to contribute to community health improvement. Additionally, participants were introduced to effective strategies for reducing tobacco use in Jordan and the region. This workshop is part of a series of health-focused events and initiatives aimed at fostering a healthier society and encouraging younger generations to address public health challenges, particularly smoking—a major health issue in the Arab world.
