Faculty of Arts and Sciences Hosts Lecture on Community Security at Al-Ahliyya Amman University
The Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Al-Ahliyya Amman University hosted a distinguished lecture at the Mahmoud Darwish Auditorium, delivered by Dr. Khaled Al-Shiyab from the Department of Allied Sciences, on “Community Security” and its evolving dimensions amid contemporary challenges.
During the lecture, Dr. Al-Shiyab emphasized the importance of strengthening public awareness and highlighted the shared responsibility of individuals and institutions in promoting a holistic concept of security. He explained that community security goes beyond conventional safety measures, encompassing broader social, cultural, and intellectual aspects.
The event attracted a strong turnout of students, who engaged actively through thoughtful questions and discussions that enriched the session. The lecture was attended by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Linda AlKhawaja, who underscored the value of such academic initiatives in raising students’ awareness and deepening their understanding of key societal issues.
