Dr. Zaid Al-Kilanis AAU Visit

Professor Sadeq Hamed, president of Al-Ahliyya Amman University (AAU) met with Dr. Zaid Al-Kilani, CEO of Rohi, a highly reputable Pharmacy Chain in the Kingdom, and a technical team of specialists in equipping and furnishing pharmacies, in the presence of Dr. Ghaleb Oreiqat, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Dr. Samir Al-Gammaz, Deputy Dean for Field Training of Pharmacy Students. The meeting discussed pharmacy-related issues since Dr. Al-Kilani is a board member and secretary general of the Union of Pharmacists.The meeting comes in line with the Facultys vision, mission, and goals of providing the labor market with pharmacy cadres equipped with knowledge, skills, and professional ethics, ensuring good and healthy pharmacy practices, reducing the gap between the outcomes of the educational process and the demands of the labor market, and enhancing communication with the related parties. On his part, AAU president said that he is ready to host the second convention of pharmacy students, calling upon the Union of Pharmacists to hold their conventions and other activities on University campus in the future. Dr. Al-Kilani commended AAU’s efforts of upgrading the levels of graduated pharmacists, and valued the level of the students of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, a level clearly testified by the examination results supervised by the Union. The President and his guests also discussed the possibility of founding a virtual pharmacy at Al-Ahliyya Amman University so as to develop pharmaceutical training. Dr. Al-Kilani volunteered to design and furnish a virtual pharmacy at the University and pledged to train the pharmacists who will staff this pharmacy. Construction work and interior decoration were started directly on Thursday, 05/04/2012.
