Dr. Maher Al-Hourani Patronizes the Second Day of Amman Ahliyya University's 33rd Commencement Ceremony for Second Semester Graduates

Dr. Maher Al-Hourani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Amman Ahliyya University, patronized the second day of the University's 33rd commencement ceremony for graduates of the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic year, held on the evening of 15 July 2026 at the Arena Theatre. The ceremony was attended by Professor Sari Hamdan, University Advisor; Professor Ahmad Hamdan, Acting President of the University; Member of Parliament Andre Hawari; members of the Board of Trustees; Professor Bashar Al-Tarawneh, Vice President of the University and Dean of the Faculties of Engineering and Technical Education; the deans of the faculties; faculty and administrative staff; and a large gathering of graduates' families and invited guests. Graduates from the Faculties of Business, Educational Sciences, Law, Agricultural Technology, Architecture and Design, Arts and Sciences, Hospitality and Tourism Management, and Nursing were honored during the ceremony. The event commenced with the Jordanian national anthem, followed by a recitation from the Holy Quran by graduate Ibrahim Ghassan Al-Absi from the Faculty of Nursing. Professor Mustafa Atiyyat, Dean of Student Affairs, delivered the University's address, welcoming the ceremony's patron, the University Advisor, the Acting President, members of the Board of Trustees, the deans, faculty and administrative staff, graduates, their families, and distinguished guests. In his speech, Professor Atiyyat described the occasion as a celebration of pride and achievement, honoring a distinguished group of graduates from eight faculties. He paid tribute to the late Dr. Ahmad Al-Hourani, founder of Amman Ahliyya University, whose vision and belief in investing in people led to the establishment of Jordan's first private university, which has since grown into a leading academic institution and a national symbol of excellence. He noted that the University continues to build on this legacy under the leadership of Dr. Maher Al-Hourani, Chairman of the Board of Directors, whose strategic vision and unwavering support have made excellence and continuous development central to the University's mission. He also expressed appreciation for the contributions of Professor Sari Hamdan, University Advisor, whose leadership and dedication have played a significant role in strengthening the University's academic standing and institutional development. Professor Atiyyat further commended the leadership of Professor Ahmad Hamdan, Acting President of the University, for continuing to advance the University's academic mission and reinforcing its position as a leading institution at the national, regional, and international levels. Highlighting the University's recent achievements, he noted that Amman Ahliyya University ranked 643rd globally in the QS World University Rankings, placing first among Jordan's private universities and third among all Jordanian universities. The University also secured a place within the 401–500 global band in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, ranking first among Jordanian universities. He also emphasized the University's exceptional performance in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject 2026, where it achieved first place in Jordan in several disciplines, including Computer Science, Education, Physical Sciences, Arts and Humanities, and Engineering. In addition, it ranked first among Jordanian private universities in Business and Economics and in Medicine and Health. Continuing its record of excellence, the University maintained its leadership in Hospitality Management for the second consecutive year, while also ranking first among Jordanian private universities in the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities and securing 41st place among Arab universities. Professor Atiyyat further highlighted the University's commitment to supporting Jordan's national priorities in technical and vocational education. In line with the Royal directives, the University established the Faculty of Technical Education to offer associate diploma programs and obtained accreditation from Pearson to deliver internationally recognized BTEC qualifications in disciplines aligned with labor market needs. Concluding his address, Professor Atiyyat reaffirmed the University's commitment to remaining a beacon of knowledge, a hub for innovation, and a key partner in developing both people and society. He congratulated the graduates on their achievement, expressed appreciation to their families for their unwavering support, and celebrated the University's continued success and progress. On behalf of the graduating class, Raya Ibrahim Al-Hababah from the Faculty of Business delivered the graduates' address. She expressed her pride in belonging to Amman Ahliyya University and reflected on the dedication and perseverance that had brought the graduates to this milestone. She extended her sincere appreciation to the University's faculty members for their guidance and mentorship throughout the years of study and offered heartfelt thanks to her family. In an emotional tribute, she remembered her late mother, expressing gratitude for her enduring influence, while also thanking her father and siblings for their constant encouragement and support. Addressing the graduates' parents, she acknowledged their sacrifices and unwavering belief in their children's success, emphasizing that the graduates' accomplishments would not have been possible without their support. Concluding her speech, she encouraged her fellow graduates to continue pursuing their aspirations, reminding them that although their university journey had come to an end, their ambitions and dreams were only beginning. She congratulated the graduating class on reaching this important milestone. Following the graduates' address, Professor Bashar Al-Tarawneh, Vice President of the University, read the official graduation declaration, confirming that the bachelor's degree candidates from the participating faculties had successfully fulfilled all academic requirements and inviting the ceremony's patron to confer their degrees. The ceremony was presented by Anas Qteishat from the Faculty of Law, whose thoughtful introductions and eloquent presentation added a distinctive touch to the event. At the conclusion of the ceremony, Dr. Maher Al-Hourani, accompanied by the deans of the participating faculties, presented degree certificates to the graduates and honored outstanding students with awards recognizing their academic excellence. The University announced that the third and final day of the 33rd commencement ceremonies would be held on the evening of 16 July 2026 under the patronage of Dr. Maher Al-Hourani, during which graduates from the School of Graduate Studies, the Faculty of Information Technology, and the Faculty of Engineering would receive their degrees.
