Department of Architecture at Al-Ahliyya Amman University participates in workshop on Enhancing energy performance in Jordanian buildings
Dr. Yara Nehru, of the Department of Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture and Design, participated on Monday, 25 October 2021, in the workshop entitled Enhancing energy performance in Jordanian buildings using construction data modelling to enable technological and practical innovations, which was organized by the British Council, Salford University in the United Kingdom, and Philadelphia University, and which was funded by the Newton Khalidi Fund. The workshop discussed several topics, including energy efficiency challenges in buildings in Jordan, data science in the energy distribution industry, sustainability and energy consumption in Jordan, the transformation of the construction sector using off-site approaches, smart city and lot-based energy management, advanced lessons in data visualization and the contractual framework for BIM adoption in the Jordanian construction industry.At the end of the workshop, group exercises entitled “Horizon Scanning & Future Vision,” and “Ambition, Methods, and Stakeholder Mapping” were conducted, with participants developing research proposals based on UK standards for research funding.
