Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Visits Ulster University

Responding to an official invitation, Professor Wissam Ammari, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at our university, visited the Faculty of Pharmacy at Ulster University in the United Kingdom. The visit featured a series of meetings with prominent academic figures, including Professor Carol Curran, Pro Vice Chancellor & Executive Dean of Faculty of Life & Health Sciences, and Professor Paul McCarron, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy. These discussions, involving various department heads and academic program leaders, centered around enhancing academic collaboration and exchange. A significant part of Professor Ammari's visit was a field trip to the Medicines Optimization Innovation Center (MOIC). There, he met with the regional director, Professor Michael Scott, to explore and discuss potential areas for joint research collaboration and the pursuit of joint research grants (Joint-grant). Additionally, Professor Ammari engaged with the Ulster University community by delivering multiple lectures to both students and faculty members of the Faculty of Pharmacy. The visit culminated in a preliminary agreement to establish a joint cooperation framework between the two Faculties of Pharmacy. This proposed collaboration aims to cover diverse educational and research activities, including exchange programs for students and faculty, and extends to joint supervision of PhD candidates in Pharmacy. As a token of appreciation and collaboration, Professor Ammari presented a commemorative shield from AAU to the representatives of Ulster University, symbolizing the strengthened ties and shared academic vision between the two institutions.
