Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design Participates in the 2nd Conference of the Regional Network for Energy and Women in the Middle East and North Africa

Dr. Saba Nasirat, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design, participated in the events of the 2nd Conference of the Regional Network for Energy and Women in the Middle East and North Africa (RENEW MENA 2024), held from May 20 to 23, 2024, in Amman. The conference was hosted by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, with support from the Gender and Energy Program of the World Bank. The event brought together RENEW MENA partners, business leaders in the energy sector from government entities and the private sector, and academia, with participants from across the Middle East, North Africa, Africa, Europe, and South Asia. The conference’s aim was to inspire and encourage through the exchange of knowledge and expertise on women's economic participation and leadership in the energy sector. RENEW MENA is a regional platform launched by the World Bank in 2022 to enhance women's participation in the energy and climate sectors, combat stereotypes about women's roles in STEM fields, and increase their visibility in the energy sector. RENEW operates on three pillars: facilitating the transition from education to employment, advancing women's careers in the energy sector, and promoting women's entrepreneurship in climate technology. Since its establishment, RENEW MENA has developed a wide network of institutional and strategic partners across the region. This participation aligns with the university's policy of openness towards local, regional, and international institutions, enhancing partnerships in applied scientific fields, consistent with the university's vision and core values.
