Cooperation Between Al-Ahliyya Amman University and Al Hussain New Salt Governmental Hospital in Audiology and Speech Services
Dr. Fadi Al-Suwaiti, Director of Al-Ahliyya Amman University’s Center for Audiology and Speech, and Dr. Rami Abu Rumman, Director of the Al Hussain New Salt Hospital, discussed avenues of cooperation and mechanisms for exchanging expertise between the two institutions.
This meeting comes as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between Al-Ahliyya Amman University and local community institutions, with the aim of providing training opportunities that enhance the practical and field competencies of undergraduate and postgraduate students specializing in Audiology and Speech, within the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences.
The meeting was also attended by Dr. Laila Qanawati, Director of Speech and Language Clinics at AAU, Dr. Iftikhar Al-Zoubi, Head of the ENT Department at Al Hussain New Salt Hospital, and audiologist Islam Al-Kharabsheh. Discussions focused on expanding cooperation to serve patients from the local community visiting the hospital, while also offering training opportunities for students of the Audiology and Speech Department.
The parties also reviewed mechanisms for delivering services to patients suffering from speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders in particularly stroke survivors, patients with chronic neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, and patients with laryngeal and tongue cancers, as well as cases of hearing loss and cleft palate.
For his part, Dr. Rami Abu Rumman expressed his appreciation for the services provided by the University’s center, affirming his readiness to foster cooperation between the two sides in the service of patients, within official and legal frameworks.
