Faculty of Engineering at Al-Ahliyya Amman University Wins Second Place Among Jordanian Universities in the “Intaleq” Graduation Projects Award
The Faculty of Engineering at Al-Ahliyya Amman University achieved a remarkable accomplishment in the inaugural edition of the Hussein Fund for Excellence and Innovation’s “Intaleq” University Projects Award, which was held on June 6, 2026, at the Hilton Hotel under the patronage of Professor Azmi Mahafzah, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Engineer Sami Smeirat, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship. The event was attended by judging panels comprising distinguished academics and experts from the industrial sector.
The Faculty secured second place in the Health Sciences and Services category for the graduation project entitled:
“Design and Implementation of a Practical Low-Cost EMG-Based Wheelchair”
The project was supervised by Professor Jamal Al-Nabulsi and successfully carried out by Anas Mohammad Masaad and Moayad Zuhair Al-Aqayleh, students in the Biomedical Engineering program.
This achievement is a true reflection of Al-Ahliyya Amman University’s vision of supporting scientific research and promoting excellence and innovation. It also demonstrates the advanced level of creativity and ingenuity exhibited by its students.
The project earned this distinction after being selected among the top ten projects out of 39 projects submitted by universities across the Kingdom.
On this occasion, Dr. Maher Hourani, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Professor Sari Hamdan, President of the University, and Professor Bashar Al-Tarawneh, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, congratulated the two winning students and their supervising professor, wishing them continued success, progress, and further achievements.
