Amman Ahliyya University Delegation Strengthens International Partnerships During Participation in Huawei Global Conference in China and Explores Collaboration with Beijing Institute of Technology

An Amman Ahliyya University delegation, headed by the University President, Professor Sari Hamdan, has concluded an official visit to the People's Republic of China, where it participated in the Huawei Global Education & Healthcare Partners China Convention 2026. The visit forms part of the University's strategic vision to expand its international partnerships and strengthen its global presence in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and innovation. The delegation included Professor Bashar Al-Tarawneh, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Professor Moath Hourani, faculty member at the Faculty of Information Technology; and Mr. Hossam Al-Sayed. During the visit, the delegation took part in a series of academic and executive meetings, in addition to technical tours of Huawei's research and development centers and its training and innovation facilities. These visits provided first-hand exposure to the company's latest technologies and digital solutions in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, fifth-generation (5G) networks, and smart campus technologies. The delegation also held several meetings with senior Huawei officials to discuss opportunities for expanding cooperation in digital education. Discussions focused on establishing a Huawei Academy at Amman Ahliyya University, developing specialized laboratories, and providing professional training programs and internationally recognized certifications for students and faculty members. These initiatives aim to equip graduates with the advanced skills required to meet the demands of today's rapidly evolving technological landscape. On the sidelines of the conference, University President Professor Sari Hamdan held a bilateral meeting with Professor Fang Ding, Executive Vice Dean of the Graduate School and Executive Dean of the School of Artificial Intelligence at the Beijing Institute of Technology, one of China's leading universities in engineering and artificial intelligence. The meeting, attended by members of the University delegation, explored prospects for strengthening academic and research collaboration between the two institutions. The discussions addressed the potential development of joint academic programs in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big data analytics, as well as the launch of student and faculty exchange programs and collaborative research projects. The two sides also explored the establishment of a virtual artificial intelligence laboratory and the organization of joint workshops and innovation competitions to further promote scientific cooperation between the universities. The meetings concluded with an agreement to move forward with signing memoranda of understanding with the relevant partners, facilitating reciprocal academic visits, and launching collaborative initiatives in scientific research, innovation, and digital transformation. These efforts are expected to create new opportunities for students, researchers, and faculty members alike. Professor Sari Hamdan emphasized that the visit represents an important milestone in the University's ongoing efforts to strengthen its international presence and establish strategic partnerships with leading academic and technology institutions worldwide. He reaffirmed Amman Ahliyya University's commitment to adopting cutting-edge technologies and advancing a modern educational and research environment that enhances the quality of education and prepares its graduates to compete successfully in local, regional, and international labor markets.
