Al-Hourani opens new fitness center at Arena complex in Al-Ahliyya Amman University

Dr. Maher al-Hourani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, opened the new fitness center, which is equipped with the latest digital sports equipment. The university's president, Dr. Sari Hamdan, several members of the Board of Trustees, Vice-Presidents, and Deans of Colleges attended the event on Sunday 5-12-20210 at the University's Arena Sports Complex.Al-Hourani affirmed that the process of development and expansion witnessed by Al-Ahliyya Amman University comes within the context of providing a healthy environment for university students, employees, and members of the local community, in addition to raising the level of services provided at the Arena Club. It also aims to promote the sports sector and to continue achieving sports excellence in the university, in addition to its academic excellence, being the first private university in Jordan.At the opening ceremony, Al-Hourani announced that outstanding services and special offers will be provided to university students and the local community.He added that the fitness center is equipped with the latest sports equipment and a team of trainers who contributed to the graduation of many champions, including the Jordanian champion in martial arts Ahmed Doks, thus achieving an added value in providing training programs in fitness and body building.Al-Hourani also opened squash courts to promote and diversify the sports practiced in the Arena Sports Club, as well as training for students.For his part, the President of the University, Professor Dr. Sari Hamdan, said that “the expansions and additions witnessed by the university come in the context of enhancing the distinguished reputation of the university, and building on what has been achieved in terms of scoring the highest ranks on the university rankings locally, regionally, and internationally.”Hamdan stressed that the new fitness center and its added expansions will enable it to meet the aspirations of university students and the local community as a sports outlet. It will also render its interest in sports into a societal culture besides academic excellence.The fitness center includes various sports sections, including Aeropix, KickBoxing, and CrossFit. Swimming is also available in the semi-Olympic pool, in addition to a private swimming pool for women and female students. The center also includes sauna rooms, jacuzzi, and a Turkish bath. A training program in martial arts on the hands of professional trainers suitable for each participant and a nutrition program will be developed based on physical checkups of each participant.The fitness center can accommodate 100 participants at a time, with the centre's doors open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. from Saturday to Thursday. The fitness center has an area amounting to 1,300 square meters divided onto 3floors.
