Al-Ahliyya Amman University signs Cooperation agreement with Jordanian Restaurants Association

Al-Ahliyya Amman University signed a joint cooperation agreement with the Jordanian Restaurants Association, on Sunday, 13/02/2022. The Restaurants Association is a non-profit association with more than 950 tourist facilities including (tourist restaurants, fast food restaurants, coffeeshops, and amusement and tourist recreation cities).The agreement, signed by Dr. Sari Hamdan, President of the University, and Mr. Essam Fakhreddin, President of the Association, aims for cooperation between the two parties in promoting and developing the specialty of Hospitality and Culinary Arts Management at the University's Business School, facilitating student training and alumni employment, and granting discounts to the children of tourism restaurant workers who wish to join this specialty. It also aims at working with the association towards achieving its objectives of raising the standards of the profession, promoting its development, and raising awareness on tourism among its members, in addition to developing tourism and stimulating it, in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism. The agreement also aims at highlighting the importance of working in this vital and important sector, as well as working to qualify Jordanian workers to replace foreign workers.The President of the University expressed his happiness with this cooperation and declared the university's willingness to provide all means to support and push the specialty to success. On his part, Mr. Essam Fakhreddin praised the effort exerted by the University Administration for creating specialties that are well-suited to the needs of the market and the requirements of employers, so that graduates are qualified to engage directly in the labor market.The signing ceremony was in the presence of Mr. Ayman Rasheed, General Manager of The Movembek Amman Hotel, Ms. Rana Khoury, Member of the Board of Directors of the Association and Chairman of the Training and Personnel Committee, Ms. Alyana Al-Jaanini, Director General of the Association, Dr. Moataz Al-Dib’e/ Dean of the Business School, Mr. Amin Al-Aardha from the Department of Hospitality Management and Culinary Arts, and Ms. Mays Al-Kurdi, Marketing and Relations Officer with the Sector.
