Al-Ahliyya Amman University participates in workshop entitled Synchrotron Light: A Powerful Tool for Scientific Research at Headquarters of Arab Universities Union

Teaching staff of the Faculty of Pharmacy/ Al-Ahliyya Amman University participated in a workshop entitled The Light of Synchrotron: A Powerful Tool for Scientific Research at the Headquarters of the Union of Arab Universities and in cooperation with the International Center for Synchrotron Light. The workshop was held on Thursday, 16-12-2021 and the University was represented by Dr. Khaldoun Al-Azam, Dr. Rima Al Omari, and Dr. Lubna Al Ghariba.The Synchrotron Center (SESAME) was established as the first global centre of excellence in scientific research in the Middle East, modelling the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Europe. It is a joint government organization that consists of member states in the region under the auspices of UNESCO and hosted by Jordan in the municipality of Allan, Balqa province.The center's accelerator produces synchrotron light which will be used for scientific research, teaching, and training through a number of beams of radiation, including X-rays, UV, and infrared. This center includes fields of physics, chemistry, biology, archaeology, ecology, material sciences and various applications in agriculture, engineering, pharmacy, medicine, and industry.
