Al-Ahliyya Amman University Participates in the First World Public Assembly in Moscow
AAU, represented by its President, Prof. Sari Hamdan, took part in the symposium of the First World Public Assembly, which commenced in Moscow with the participation of delegations from various countries and the presence of prominent academic and political figures.
The Jordanian delegation included a number of distinguished national figures, among them: H.E. Prof. Adnan Badran, H.E. Eng. Walid Al-Masri, Minister of Local Administration, H.E. Prof. Nathir Obeidat, President of the University of Jordan. As well as H.E. Eng. Samir Habashneh, former Minister of Agriculture, Prof. Mashhour Al-Rifai, Secretary General of the Higher Council for Science and Technology, H.E. Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary General of the Association of Arab Universities, Prof. Atef Khraysheh, President of Al-Hussein Bin Talal University, and Prof. Firas Al-Hanandeh, President of Ajloun National University, in addition to representatives from other Jordanian universities and institutions.
During the session on science, education, and the meeting of university presidents, Prof. Sari Hamdan delivered a speech highlighting the main challenges facing universities and scientific research, stressing the importance of translating the conference’s recommendations into practical steps. On this occasion, he also presented the university’s commemorative shield to the Chairman of the Council of Russian University Presidents.
The conference sessions addressed issues of peace and security, scientific progress, dialogue and partnership among nations, in addition to higher education and the role of universities. During the University Forum session, several distinguished figures delivered speeches, including H.E. Prof. Adnan Badran and Dr. Ali Saleh Mohammed, former President of the People’s Democratic Republic of Yemen.
It is noteworthy that the conference, which has witnessed wide international participation, continues its second day of deliberations to discuss further global issues and to strengthen cooperation among nations and institutions.
