Al-Ahliyya Amman University Organizes Off-Campus Water Awareness Workshops for Schools to Promote Conservation Behaviors Among Students
As part of its community role and ongoing commitment to spreading sustainability awareness beyond the campus, the Sustainability and International Ranking Center, in coordination with the Community Service Center, at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, organized a series of off-campus water awareness workshops in schools. These workshops focused on strengthening water conservation behaviors among students of various age groups.
The workshops provided practical training on leak prevention techniques in homes and schools, principles of rainwater harvesting, and daily water-saving practices. They also included interactive activities designed to help students understand the importance of water resources and their role in protecting them.
This program effectively empowered students to become water conservation ambassadors within their schools and communities, by enhancing their environmental responsibility and equipping them with practical skills for adopting sustainable water-use habits.
The University administration emphasized that this initiative aligns with AAU’s ongoing efforts to promote environmental awareness and expand knowledge on sustainable water management. It also supports key Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), by building the capacity of future generations to protect natural resources.
