Al-Ahliyya Amman University Installs Smart Water Meters in Major Campus Buildings for 2025
As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance water resource efficiency and advance digital transformation within its environmental management systems, Al-Ahliyya Amman University installed smart water metering systems in key academic and administrative buildings across the campus in 2025.
These advanced systems provide real-time monitoring of water consumption through the digital dashboard operated by the Sustainability Center, enabling the university to analyze consumption data accurately and make informed, data-driven decisions. The technology also facilitates early detection of leaks or abnormal usage, thereby improving efficiency and reducing water waste.
This initiative reflects the university’s commitment to adopting best practices in sustainable water management and supports its efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), particularly in strengthening effective monitoring and responsible resource use.
The University administration emphasized that implementing smart water meters represents a significant step toward enhancing the campus’s smart infrastructure and contributes to AAU’s vision of building a more sustainable and efficient operational environment. It further reinforces the university’s leadership in adopting innovative solutions for the preservation of natural resources.
