Al-Ahliyya Amman University Honors Its Students for Achievements in the Global English Language Olympiad and Esports Competition

The President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, Professor Sari Hamdan, honored students and faculty members who participated in the Global English Language Olympiad. The Olympiad was held under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Higher Education, and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Azmi Mahafzah, and attended by a distinguished group of officials, academics, and representatives of participating educational institutions. The ceremony took place at the University Presidency Building. This recognition followed Al-Ahliyya Amman University’s achievement of three prestigious awards at the Olympiad: second place in the English language examination track, the Most Impactful Community Service Award, and the Theatrical Performance Award. These accomplishments reflect the excellence of the students and academic staff and their effective participation in international academic forums. The Department of English Language participated in this global event under the guidance of the University President, Professor Dr. Sari Hamdan, with direct supervision by the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Professor Linda Al-Khawaja, and the Head of the English Language Department, Dr. Ahmad Shalabi. The department was represented by two student teams trained by faculty members Dr. Khaled Al-Anbar and Dr. Mohammad Al-Qatawneh. In addition, Dr. Saleh Hammad from the Faculty of Educational Sciences supervised the teams in preparing their research projects. The first team included students Ibrahim Bassem Al-Husseini, Jood Jihad Qudomi, Sabrin Malek Al-Qaisi, Ali Ahmad Ghazi, and Mona Mahmoud Al-Awamleh. The second team consisted of students Lian Waheed Shaheen, Lin Moeen Akroush, Zeina Ahmad Al-Jarran, Mohammad Abdullah Al-Issa, and Mariam Fadi Abu Al-Nadi. The ceremony also honored student Lydia Afishat for winning first place in the Women’s University Esports Championship, as well as student Ghaith Asaad in recognition of his participation in the same competition. This comes as part of the University’s ongoing commitment to supporting extracurricular activities and promoting student excellence across academic, cultural, and athletic fields.
