Al-Ahliyya Amman University Conducts “Water for Life” Community Awareness Workshops to Promote Responsible Water Use
As part of its social responsibility and ongoing commitment to spreading sustainability awareness, the Sustainability and International Ranking Center, in collaboration with the Community Service Center at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, organized a series of community awareness workshops titled “Water for Life.” These workshops targeted school students and members of the local community.
The workshops provided interactive training focused on efficient water use, leak detection, and pollution prevention. University trainers delivered practical demonstrations and hands-on activities that helped participants adopt daily practices to reduce water waste and protect water resources in homes, schools, and public facilities.
The program emphasized experiential learning and encouraged active community participation, empowering individuals to become responsible citizens capable of making sustainable decisions that contribute to environmental protection.
The University administration noted that the “Water for Life” initiative aligns with AAU’s mission to enhance environmental awareness within the community. It supports several Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), by promoting knowledge-sharing and building community capacity for sustainable water management.
