Al-Ahliyya Amman University Becomes First International TOCFL Testing Center in the Middle East

Al-Ahliyya Amman University has achieved a new academic milestone in the region, as its Language Center has been officially accredited as an external testing center for the Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL), a globally recognized standardized exam that measures proficiency in the Chinese language. With this accreditation, Al-Ahliyya Amman University becomes the first and only TOCFL testing center in the Middle East, highlighting the university’s growing academic reputation and its leading role in advancing language education and promoting international academic collaboration. In this context, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and Director of the Language Center, Professor Dr. Linda Al-Khawaja, emphasized that this achievement represents a strategic step for both the university and students in the region. She noted that the TOCFL is widely recognized by universities and academic institutions for assessing international students’ proficiency and is often a key requirement for admission to various academic programs and scholarships. She added that accrediting the university’s Language Center as an official TOCFL testing center will provide students and professionals in Jordan and the region with the opportunity to earn an internationally recognized Chinese language certification without traveling abroad, thereby enhancing academic mobility and opening broader opportunities for study and work in Chinese-speaking academic and economic environments.
