Agricultural Technology Students Visit Al-Horani Cattle Farm in Al-Hallabat Area

As part of the fruitful collaboration between Al-Ahliyya Amman University and the Agricultural Business Group of Al-Horani Farm, the Faculty of Agricultural Technology organized a field visit for its students to the cattle farm located in Al-Hallabat area. This visit is part of the field activities aimed at reinforcing applied education for the students of the faculty, contributing to providing modern scientific and technological solutions that support the development of the livestock sector in Jordan. Forty students from the Agricultural Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering majors participated in the visit, along with seven academic staff members, including Dr. Raed Al-Attiyat, a specialist in animal biotechnology. The participants had the opportunity to learn about the latest technologies and scientific methods used in cattle breeding. The farm's director, Dr. Moyad Yousef, and the production manager, Engineer Omar Al-Tarifi, provided detailed explanations about health care practices, advanced nutrition, methods for improving milk quality, and increasing productivity using biotechnological techniques, in addition to precision feed production methods and modern technologies for all types of cattle. Dr. Omar Al-Tarifi emphasized the importance of using agricultural technology applications and genetic engineering in improving cattle breeds to achieve higher disease resistance and better milk production capacity. The partnership between the university and the farm serves as a practical model of integrating university education with the expertise of the private sector, which enhances students' abilities to face challenges in the livestock sector with advanced practical skills.
