Advisory Council of Center for Women's Health at Al-Ahliyya Amman University holds its first meeting
In the presence of the President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, Professor Dr. Sari Hamdan, the Advisory Council of the Center for Women's Health at the University held its first meeting on Tuesday, 11 January 2022. The meeting was chaired by Professor Dr. Montaha Gharaiba, President of the Council, and Dr. Rana Abu Hwaij, Director of the Center. The members of the Council, who were appointed for two years for their competence and excellence in this field, attended the meeting as well, taking into consideration the foundations of partnership with the concerned authorities to achieve the goals of the Center. These are: H.E. Dr. Raeda Al-Qutob, Dr. Ghada Al-Kayali, as representative of WHO, Ms. Asma Abu Al-Aabed, Director of the National Center for Women's Health Care, Dr. Hadeel Al-Maaita, Founder and Director of the Center for Women's Studies in Society, Affiliated with the Hashemite University, Dr. Iyad Shaaban, Director of the Human Resources and Institutional Development Unit at the University, and Ms. Dima Arabiyat, as representative of the local community.The President welcomed the audience and expressed his great pleasure at the establishment of this distinguished center which supports women in Al-Balqa governorate in particular, and in Jordan, in general. The Council's missions, the center’s vision, mission, and objectives were presented and discussed. A draft of the strategic plan for the years 2021-2024 was also discussed. The plan was based on three themes, including, societal responsibility and partnership, consulting and capacity-building, and research and information. The orientations, recommendations, and feedback have been taken into account, so that the accreditation procedures of the Centre can be followed.
