Advancing Environmental Solutions: Dean's Contribution to Climate Change Workshop

The Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design, Dr. Saba Nusairat, participated in the research workshop on adaptation strategies to climate change and greenhouse gas emissions through solid waste management, especially in southern Jordan, under the title: "Innovating for A Green Future: Collaboration for Carbon Emission Reduction in Waste Management" The workshop was organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in collaboration with the Ministry of Local Administration and the Canadian Financing Project on May 8-9, 2024. Dr. Nusairat presented a presentation on AAU's experience in solid waste management strategies, through a research project published under the title: "Towards Zero Solid Waste in Jordanian Universities: The Case of Al-Ahliyya Amman University" She also participated in discussions and research sessions to develop strategies to mitigate the effects of climate change in this regard. This participation comes within the framework of the faculty and university's policy of openness to local, regional, and international institutions, and enhancing applied scientific partnerships in the fields of environmental protection and innovating appropriate solutions to mitigate climate change, in line with the university's vision, policy, and core values.
