AAU Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Samsung Electronics Levant

Al-Ahliyya Amman University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Samsung Electronics Levant to enhance support for education and youth innovation. The agreement aims to connect university students and staff with the latest technological innovations from Samsung’s products and solutions while fostering academic and research collaboration between the two parties. The MoU was signed by Dr. Maher Al-Hourani, Chairman of the University’s Board of Directors, and Mr. Jung Ho Kang, General Manager of Samsung Electronics Levant, in the presence of Acting University President Prof. Ahmad Hamdan, along with representatives from both sides. Under the agreement, Samsung will provide university students and staff with access to the Enhanced Partnership Program (EPP), enabling them to purchase Samsung products at exclusive competitive prices. In return, the university will offer Samsung employees and their first-degree relatives special discounts on undergraduate and postgraduate programs, as well as various benefits and discounts for using university facilities, such as the Arena Sports Complex. Additionally, Samsung will offer internship opportunities to university students based on the company’s needs, providing them with hands-on experience in a professional environment to enhance their technical and managerial skills, preparing them for promising career opportunities. Both parties will also collaborate in organizing and hosting conferences, seminars, and technical workshops to facilitate knowledge exchange and research data sharing. Furthermore, they will support scientific projects by utilizing the university’s advanced technologies and equipment and participate in academic and professional events, such as career fairs and open days, to strengthen connections between students and leading companies while opening new avenues for academic and technological cooperation. Dr. Maher Al-Hourani stated that this MoU aligns with the university’s strategy to achieve academic excellence by equipping students with modern tools that enhance education and enable active participation in the regional and international job markets. He added that the collaboration with Samsung Electronics Levant reflects the university’s commitment to fostering an innovative learning environment that integrates advanced technology across various disciplines. For his part, Mr. Jung Ho Kang, General Manager of Samsung Electronics Levant, emphasized: “This Memorandum of Understanding reflects our commitment to investing in education, which we believe is an investment in the future. Integrating education with technology—one of the most transformative tools of our era—holds significant importance for us. This partnership embodies our vision of actively empowering communities through technology and knowledge, enabling future generations to drive change in the digital era and achieve sustainability.” This collaboration serves as a model for impactful empowerment by providing continuous learning and development opportunities to a wide range of students and professionals, ensuring they stay aligned with evolving job market demands.
