AAU’s Faculty of Nursing Organizes Awareness Activity at Amman Comprehensive Health Center

As part of its academic plan and in collaboration with the Social Committee, the Faculty of Nursing at Al-Ahliyya Amman University organized a field awareness activity at Amman Comprehensive Health Center for pregnant women. The activity was designed to enhance the practical and communication skills of students enrolled in the Maternal Health course. A number of students took part in the activity, each responsible for planning and delivering an educational session that addressed two key topics in maternal and child care: breastfeeding and proper nutrition during pregnancy. The session focuses on raising awareness among pregnant women about the importance of breastfeeding and proper nutrition in improving the health of both the mother and the fetus. The pregnant women were informed about the short- and long-term benefits of breastfeeding, proper practices to follow, and misconceptions to avoid. Additionally, the activity provided education on a balanced diet during pregnancy and encouraged women to make informed decisions that positively affect their health and their children's well-being. Furthermore, this activity offered a valuable opportunity for nursing students to gain practical experience in designing and conducting health education sessions effectively.
