AAU Participates in the Launch Ceremony of the "Wellness Ambassadors" Project
Under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Dina Mired, the launch ceremony of the "Wellness Ambassadors" program was held at the Marriott Hotel – Amman. The program aims to empower youth and strengthen their role in combating tobacco use by raising awareness of its risks and negative impacts on health and the environment.
Representatives from five Jordanian universities attended the event, including Al-Ahliyya Amman University. The university was represented by Dr. Omar Al-Zyoud, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Accreditation & Quality Affairs at the Faculty of Nursing; Dr. Mona Al-Nsour, Director of the Women's Health Center at the Faculty of Nursing; and pharmacist Haneen Al-Momani, Liaison Officer for the "Wellness Ambassadors" project at the Women's Health Center – Faculty of Nursing. Several students from various disciplines also participated.
Her Royal Highness Princess Dina Mired delivered an inspiring speech on the importance of awareness in combating tobacco use and officially announced the launch of the program, which will be implemented in five Jordanian universities, including Al-Ahliyya Amman University. The program will train selected students from each university over the course of a year, providing them with accredited hours from the World Health Organization.
Dr. Jameela Al-Raabi, the World Health Organization representative in Jordan, also delivered an opening speech about the project.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Firas Al-Hawari, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Health for Primary Health Care and Epidemics.
