AAU Organizes Awareness Lecture on the Scourge of Drugs as Part of Student Awareness Week Activities

As part of the Awareness Week activities for AAU students, the Dean of Student Affairs, in collaboration with Al-Balqa Governorate and the Public Security Directorate/Anti-Narcotics Department, organized an awareness lecture for university students on the scourge of drugs, in Nizar Qabbani Auditorium. The lecture was attended by Dr. Mustafa Al-Atiyyat, Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Noor Al-Dabbas, Vice Dean of Student Affairs, Ms. Nadia Al-Mubarak, representative of Al-Balqa Governorate, and several administrative staff and university students. Major Mu'tasim Abu Annab, Head of the Anti-Narcotics Department in Al-Balqa Governorate, spoke about the various forms and types of drugs, describing them as one of the most dangerous scourges affecting most societies worldwide, and discussed methods of treatment. Abu Annab highlighted the severe physical, social, economic, and security harms caused by drugs, pointing out that the issue is no longer limited to one type of drug or a specific country or social class, but affects all types and categories. The lecture also addressed the role of the family in monitoring their children, emphasizing that the first step in combating drugs begins with the family, and underscored the importance of promptly reporting any drug sales or promotion activities. At the conclusion of the lecture, students were taken on a tour of the mobile drug exhibition to learn about the different types and forms of drugs, aiming to increase their awareness. Dr. Noor Al-Dabbas, Vice Dean of Student Affairs, presented a university shield to Major Mu'tasim Abu Annab, Head of the Anti-Narcotics Department in Al-Balqa Governorate.
