AAU Hosts National Seminar in Cooperation with Balqa Youth Forum under the Patronage of Senator Dr. Rajai Muasher
Al-Ahliyya Amman University hosted a discussion seminar titled “What Does Jordan Expect from Us Now in Light of Current Developments?” under the patronage of Senator Dr. Rajai Muasher, and in cooperation with the Balqa Youth Forum. The event was attended by the University President, Professor Sari Hamdan, the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Mustafa Al-Atiyyat, along with a group of political and national figures, academics, journalists, and students.
The seminar addressed the main challenges facing Jordan in the current period amid regional and international developments, emphasizing the importance of strengthening national awareness and unifying efforts to meet the demands of the moment.
In his remarks, Dr. Muasher stated that Jordan has consistently faced successive crises it did not cause, noting that recent regional developments and their complexities present challenges that require greater internal cohesion and strengthened national unity. He stressed that the state’s priority lies in safeguarding sovereignty and protecting citizens’ security, which requires standing united behind the Hashemite leadership and supporting security institutions in recognition of their role in maintaining stability.
He also highlighted Jordan’s efforts under His Majesty King Abdullah II in supporting Palestinians in Gaza through humanitarian aid and diplomatic initiatives, reaffirming Jordan’s steadfast position on the Palestinian cause and its rejection of any projects that undermine Palestinian rights or the status of Jerusalem.
For his part, political writer Hussein Al-Rawashdeh provided an analytical reading of the political landscape, reviewing key current issues and emphasizing the importance of informed discourse and deep analysis in anticipating future developments and serving the national interest.
Similarly, Senator Fadil Al-Hamoud stressed that the current stage requires heightened national awareness, highlighting the importance of translating belonging into practical behavior beyond slogans, and noting that the strength of nations is measured by the ability of their people to remain resilient and responsible during times of challenge.
The seminar witnessed strong engagement from attendees through discussions and interventions that reflected significant interest in national issues and ways to enhance the resilience of the Jordanian state.
This event comes as part of AAU’s approach to promoting constructive national dialogue and reinforcing its role as an academic platform that contributes to raising awareness of national and regional issues.
