A New Book Issued by Dr. Sattar Al-Jbouri, Vice Dean of the AAU Faculty of Architecture & Design

Dr. Sattar Hammadi Al-Jabouri, Vice Dean of the AAU Faculty of Architecture and Design released his new book titled “Colors & Design”. The book which consists of 152 pages and five chapters was published by Nour House in Germany. The first chapter dealt with color concept, its qualities, color types and tools along with a set of applied exercises. The second chapter included a detailed explanation of the compatibility and contrast of colors, color relations and the most important designs used in the design process and ended with a group of practical exercises. The third chapter included the most important themes of color in terms of functional, symbolic and expressive aspects as well as its uses in printing and in computer software for design.The fourth chapter took two directions: the first was philosophical and dealt with the relation of color to design space, movement, direction and the concept of time and space in design. The second direction dealt with the applied aspect in terms of color use and its relation to these concepts. Finally, chapter five included an overview of the modern techniques in the field of graphic design and referred to a set of electronic output, collection systems and types of applied computer software that are used in this area.
