A Delegation from the AAU Students Visits the School of Cerebral Palsy Foundation

Under the supervision of Dr. Abed Al-Raheem Atiyyeh and the Speech Specialist Mrs. Beikah Al-Shishani, the students registered in the Neurological Speech Disorder Course visited the school of Cerebral Palsy Foundation on Thursday, 7/12/2017. The school which is an offspring of the charitable foundation is located in Shmaisani. It serves all the areas in the capital and includes sixty students, male and female. The students are distributed in twelve classes that begin from the kindergarten and go to the 10th grade and later integrated in the regular schools. According to the Educational Director, Mrs. Eman Bader, 40% of students suffer from severe pronunciation difficulties while 40% of them suffer from moderate difficulties. This visit aimed to achieve the AAU’s goal of providing the students registered in clinical specializations with field training and to serve the local community. This visit has paved the way for cooperation between the University and the foundation in serving their children and students. It also granted students who are registered in the Department of Hearing and Speech a field training opportunity to apply the theories they learned and put it in practice.
