About the Award Theme
In the face of a painful scene of conflict, Gaza stands surrounded by walls of darkness and destruction. It has become a symbol of human suffering and violations of human rights. In expression of this scene, which embodies the essence of suffering, the fourth edition of Al-Hourani Award for Arts and Design was launched under the title: “Right to Life: Messages to Gaza.”
Al-Hourani Award for Arts and Design is not merely a platform for artistic expression. It is a call raised by the students and graduates of Al-Ahliyya Amman University to reject mass killing and discrimination, and to affirm that the right to life must be sacred for everyone without exception.
Through these artistic messages, the suffering of the Palestinian people is highlighted, while their courage and resilience are honored. In its fourth edition, the award becomes a call in which the values of humanity and solidarity are embodied through artistic and design works that condemn and reflect war crimes and human rights violations in Gaza.
These works carry strong messages to the international community about the need to stop aggression and uphold equality in the right to life. In this context, Al-Hourani Award for Arts and Design evokes hope and strength, and calls for solidarity and joint action toward justice and peace, because the right to life cannot be compromised and must be guaranteed for every human being everywhere.
