RESEARCH INTERESTS

  • ordanian Medicinal plants Extraction , Phytochemical analysis and standardization: an approach for new pharmaceutical formulations My m ain interest is in natural products chemistry, specifically secondary plants metabolites, and the ir qualitative and quantitative measurements in different biological masses. In addition, I am interested in the evaluation of plant extracts efficiency in terms of:  The inhibit ion of enzymatic reactions in invitro studies, for different pharmaceutical applications , including their antioxidant activity , antimicrobial, anticancer and antityrosinase effect.  The evaluat ion of the hypoglycemic and hypolipidaemic potential, for different plant extracts, on normal and streptozotocin induced mild and severely diabetic rats.  The evaluat ion of the potential effect of different plant extracts, on folate absorption and leptin activity on female rats.  The evaluation of t wo different methods for extraction; including microwave- integrated soxhlet extraction and the conventional s oxhlet extraction methods for the comparative study of their pharmacological effects, using different models and relating these effects with their metabolites profile.  Qualitative and quantitative analysis of secondary plant metabolites using HPLC -MS / MS / UV analysis.  Linking the pharmacological effects obtained from the studied plant extracts with their phytochemical profile. V  Optimize the extraction protocol used to obtain special extracts requir ed for certain pharmaceutical applications.  The incorporation of standardized plant extracts that processes specific biological or pharmacological activity in a novel pharmaceutical formulation.
  • Herbal Medicine in Jordan: Ethnic Drug Surveys and Verba l Laboratory Studies Also, I am interested in conducting research in the area of herbal remedies that have been used by Jordanian herbalists and pharmacists in ethnomedicine, ethno- botany and phytotherapeutic, with the aim of clinical evaluation and valid ation of these preparations. Users believe and practices are also explored and used to understand their knowledge and behaviors towards herbal medicine . In this regards, validated questioners and face -to-face interviews are the main tools used. In addition, literature review using respected open access data bases are also used for validation of the efficient and safe use of these remedies. Such findings would be used to pave the way for making new recommendations in order to customize special strategies , which can be implemented in the country in aim to resolve critical issues influencing the use of herbal remedies.
